10/7/2011 10:36:20 AMHI Everyone,
I wanted to know your opinions on the LaRue Tactical LT-681 ACOG RCO Scope Mount vs. LaRue Tactical LT-100 Mount? I know the difference between them, but on a M4 type rifle, is one Scope Mount better than the other. I would be using this on my TA31F. What are your experiences?
Thanks for your time,
Kirk

Just got my Eotech 512 on the advice of an ex marine.Told me both EOTech and aimpoint are good and has used both. He pointed out the differences and flaws in both and EOTech won out. Cant wait to take it out.

I have a Eotech 512 and 552, unless you will even uss NVGs Eotech 512 is a good option. I have even mounted my 552 on my AR-50 50BMG and it handled the recoil great. It will work fine out 200 meters.

I played with a friend’s 712 Utility. It is surprisingly light in the hand, comparable to a Benelli. As would be expected, it shoots softer than a Benelli. My friend had added a DMW Carrier Release Bar from a Benelli and it fit/functioned just fine. The gun cycled everything I fed it with 100% reliability. I don’t know how much ammo he has put through it by now, nor how it will hold up long-term, but it looked pretty well made to me. For $400, the CZ route is likely to be a lot more economical. The only potential downside would be if you wanted to add a pistol grip stock… presumable 922r would come into play. If you want a pistol grip stock, the Mossberg 500 Accessories is not a good choice either due to the location of the safety.

I toyed with the idea of a pistol grip stock but don’t know if it is for me or not. I have never shot one before but like the idea of them. I might eventually get one for my 870 just to try it out.

I like them myself, but the majority opinion in the 3-gun world is that a traditional stock works better for most. If you really want a pistol grip, I would look at the Remington 11-87 (what I run, used examples are plentiful around $400, require careful maintenance to keep running) and slap on a Choate stock, or consider the FN-SLP Tactical ($1100 new) if you can stand the butt-ugly stock design:

Go to www.sksboards.com and start posting, and looking there. You can also post a WTB ad, but you may have to make a small donation to the site. That sorta makes you a of the site and lets you see the all of the classifieds and post in the classifieds as well.
Was at a local shop and saw a Glnic imports SKS Rifle Stocks marked “CGA made in China” . It is in excellent condition, all matching, machined trigger group, screw in barrel, and spike bayo. They want $295.00. Never heard of this importer or manufacturer. Is this a good gun?

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Mccray6/17/2011 2:08:29 AM I have run the gambit fromEotech516 to Burris XTR 1-4X ,then to an aimpoint CompM2, then back to an Eotech, Then a TA31H 4X ACOG. Just recently I sold the Trijicon ACOG and purchased anEotechEXPS.The” Doughnut Of Death” reticle and overall FOV Always pulls me back. For me it has always been the fastest reticle to aquire and center on a target from 0-200 +yards pretty easily and range estimating with the ghost ring is quick and easy to an extent. I like the super brightness, the brightest red dot of the 3, settings and that they are better , stronger ,lighter and more compact now.IMO The Trijicon ACOG was impractical for Close range situations and I decided no to go with the added weight of a secondary 1x micro. I also find it easy to lose sight of a red dot through a tube type sight for critical seconds durring snap shots, whereas theEotechseems to lock your eyes into the target I have never tried a Trijicon Reflex or Mepro. I would be interested to see how well they workSo… I’m building an AR for duty, home defense, predator hunting, and plinking. I know it’s varied uses but it will be the only AR I personally own and until I build more this going to have to do it all. Anyway, I’m park ranger so most of action will be outdoors and I’m looking for a good scope to go on it. I’ve settled on either the Trijicon Trijicon AccuPoint 1x-4x or the Burris XTR 1x-4x, they’re both similar in price and features I was just wondering if anyone had any faults with either or knew of any reason why one is so much better than the other. I was leaning toward the Burris as I have their scopes on two of my bolt rifles and love them, though I do find it nice the Trijicon takes no batterys.

Na you can use a BUIS with the RCO mount. I run it with my NSN/DOC and a Troy with no problems. Either Scope Mount will be good. I went with the RCO for cosmetic reasons, not to mention its a little cheaper.

Before cleaning.
The first patch I ran through, and the last one. Some krud Kutter for the stock. A little TLC stuff for the commie lady!
And when I was done with her. Not much difference, but much cleaner! Don’t worry my friend, now your have a proper home. Another American Patriot with a commie tool!

I’m just a range schmuck, but one who has been known to drop stuff at inopportune times. (Ever drop a wah-wah pedal on a guitar? I have!) I’ve read the SPOT red dot torture test thread and I was impressed. How would an Eotech hold up to such shenanigans? What about the CompC3? If it matters, it’ll be going on a Stag 3. I am not interested in hearing about battery life, ease of operation, reticles, or mount options. I’ll save those for another time. Zack3g [Life Member] 5/11/2008

seamasterpro 2/2/2011 11:56:18 PM I tossed the two around before I bought and ended up with the LT-681 on my A4gery and glad I did. because of the short eye relief of the TA31 I mounted mine really far back, farther than I could have gone with the LT-100. the LT-681 mounts extremely solid so all things being relatively equal I figure you might as well get the one you can Scope Mount furthest rearward and equally as far forward. flpickupman 2/4/2011 7:01:24 PM The RCO Scope Mount is going to give you worlds more adjustment for eye relief. Now that it’s broken in it runs flawlessly. I had some rust form on the mag tube under the handguard which was affecting cycling. I cleaned it up with some emory cloth, reblued it, and oiled the heck out of it. Runs like a champ now. It’s very soft shooting and fast, too.
Does anyone know of a Mossberg 500 Accessories 500 single-point sling adapter plate for use with the HK hook?
I’m sure the rectangular type would work with the hook, but then I may as well just buy a new sling system. The rectangular loop would allow the hook to slide back and forth a little too much.
I’m trying to make my HK-hook sling compatible with several of my platforms.
